“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to

completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

We are only a month into the semester and God is doing so much in the lives of the girls I have met. The Lord has started something beautiful inside of each one of them and He will be faithful to complete it. I believe the Lord will continue to bring freedom from anxiety, hope to the hopeless, and joy to the broken hearted. I don’t want to just hear the broken stories of those on campus but to also share the Good News.

Aimee is a girl I actually met when she was still a Senior in High School when she came to visit and tour our campus. The family stopped by our Chi Alpha building to introduce themselves and I gave them a tour of the building. Her dad saw me on campus during move in day and stopped to say hello. I met Aimee again as she was getting settled into her dorm and she has been at my side ever since. When I first met Aimee she was extremely shy, anxious, and nervous. As she started coming to our service nights she has been encountering God. The Good News is, Aimee came to college anxious and fearful and is now walking in freedom from anxiety.

Kailee is also a Freshman who was so filled with fear that she would drive home (2hours) every night because she didn’t want to stay in her dorm. I met her after her first week of school. She said she had cried everyday that week because she was so fearful, anxious and homesick. She came to Dgroup and has been attending service weekly. She has such a deep hunger to know the Lord. We have been meeting up to talk about the Bible together and she is being introduced to the love of God. The Good News is, Kailee came to college fearful and hungry for community and is now filled with a new joy that is also affecting she family back home.

Aimee & Kailee

I have told you all about my friend Kaitlyn over the summer. She and I are meeting up regularly to talk through the Gospels. She is growing in her love for the Lord and has chosen to sacrifice things in her life to be closer to God. She has committed to no social media for a season and wants to read more of the word. Kaitlyn came to college shy to share her faith and doubting if she really knew God. The Good News is, she is now growing in her understanding of God and wants her sorority to all know God.

Who doesn’t love dogs?

We are getting creative out here trying to find ways to meet students. By this time of the semester many students are missing their puppies from back home so we decided to bring our Chi Alpha pups to campus. We made cute little sandwich boards to fit the dogs and headed to campus. They wore them proudly as we walked around campus. As we went we had many conversation with students inviting them to Chi Alpha, having the doggies on campus brought so much joy to students.

Prayer

What we want to see God do in the lives of those around us or

in our own lives must first be spoken in prayer.

Will you join me in praying for our campus and the girls God has placed in my life?

We have Fall Retreat is coming up on Oct. 8th - 10th.

I’m praying all my girls will come and be changed by the love of God. Pray that they will not just attend another service and not only understand God through the lense of past understanding but that they would have a fresh encounter with God.

I pray they would be set free from anxiety, overcome fear of the future and walk in their God given identity.

Will you keep these girls in your prayers? I believe the Lord will make himself known to them in a new way.
